Amhránaí (Old Irish for singer or vocalist) is a one of a kind, hand forged singing blade. This is only the second singing blade I’ve managed to bring to life over the course of my career thus far. It is forged of a single piece of 4140 tool steel. I combined two of my favorite blades to create this. The blade of a Khukri, and the handle of a Celtic ring pommel war knife. I achieved the coloration via a proprietary heat treating and Tempering process I’ve developed. The texture is added by what I’ve termed Flame painting. The entire thing has been bathed in fire of many forms repeatedly.

My blades have soul to them, They are entirely hand crafted, and unique. You won't be able to match the quality, performance and passion of these knives with anything store bought. They are heirloom quality, extremely effective tools.

Khukris are one of my favorite blades both to create and use. They originate in Nepal, and are used both in war and everyday life/agriculture. The heavy belly and forward curve results in devastatingly effective cuts and slashes. They are famous for their ability to De-limb things with single blows. I've been practicing bushcraft my entire life, and prefer a Khukri over any other type of blade when things get real out in the wilderness.

The handle is in the style of a Celtic ring pommel war knife. A tool my ancestors used to great effect. It is designed to cradle the hand tightly on the top and bottom for grip retention. It also shifts balance down towards the hand, adds weight for punches, and the solid steel ring at the bottom is a formidable tool in close quarters.

The blade is differentially quenched and tempered 4140 high carbon tool steel. Which is to say, the spine is soft, flexible and durable, the edge is extremely hard. The result of this heat treating method is that you have a springy blade with a killer edge that will last through a long period of use.

I harden my knives using a computer controlled kiln. Using this tool allows me to get maximum edge retention out of a given piece/type of steel.

Each blade I sell has a my lifetime warranty, covering reasonable uses. With proper care, one of my blades could last multiple generations.

Victory through fire and steel!
