Hand Forged Camp Axe, Entirely Forged To Shape, By Kempf Forge
Behold! This badass hand forged camp axe. The head is forged out of a single, solid piece of 4140 Tool steel, the eye was punched and drifted. The only grinding done on this axe is roughly 1/8" right on the cutting edge. the rest of it is entirely forged to shape with hammer and flames. It was a test of my forging abilities.
It is hardened to hold an awesome edge through extended use, without too much difficulty sharpening.
This blade would be perfect for camping, or bushcraft adventures! For a Renn faire persona, SCA events, or just as display piece above your mantle. That being said, please note it is extremely functional. As a point of pride I don't sell non-functional items, even if they're mainly for display.
Cutting edge length: 4" Edge to poll: 6.75" Overall length: 24" Weight: 3 lbs 4 oz or 1,479 Grams Blade steel: 4140 Tool steel Handle: Bolivian rosewood
The handle is carved to be comfortable in a variety of grips, out of Bolivian rosewood.
You can cut down a tree, split wood, recreationally destroy stumps, or other targets of opportunity. It will withstand an immense amount of abuse and keep coming back for more. The head is attached with a wedge, which is held in place with industrial grade epoxy, and the inside of the eye was also coated with epoxy prior to driving the wedge. it's extremely secure.
The blade has decorative hot chiseling all the way around the perimeter on both sides, which is matched by the same pattern on the handle.
That same design is stamped in to the perimeter of the leather sheath, which is included with the axe.
Every piece of steel I sell has a my lifetime warranty. If you somehow chip the blade on steel, or a hard rock or some such, and I'm still alive, I will repair it if you pay shipping both ways.
